Looking at either picking up a pro or c3. Main use will be hd/ tac matches and general around the farm use.  I have owned or own a c3, ml3, and a m2.looking for 2 moa dot and longest battery life.  I can get the C3 kit from swfa for 420  and use a canteliver mount i have or pick up a pro with a larue mount for 420.  Is the 2 moa dot as bright and easy to pick up on sunny days as a 4 moa?  Will have a magnifer on it at times, that is my main attraction to the 2 moa dot.  Thanks for the help.

C3 has longer battery life (50K hrs vs 30K hrs) and 2moa dot if using a magnifier.

I always laugh at the battery life debate between the C3 and Pro.....To me it is a non-issue.....3 years for the PRO is a long time. As for the 2 MOA on the PRO.....no problem at all in bright light.

Any aimpoint is better than no aimpoint. Love the comp m4 and the PRO.

Thanks, i realize 3 vs 5 yr is not a big deal compared to say 3 yr vs 600 hr xps2-2.  Are c3 & pro aimpoints as rugged  as the top tier aimpoints?  do not need nv and won't be going scuba with rifle just rain.

If you want to nitpick, the rotary switches on the M2/M3/Pro Aimpoints are susceptible to impact damage and a blow to the optic can rotate the optic in the mount. Both the M4 & Micro series deal w/those issues. Other than that I think you'd need destructive testing to determine any significant difference in ruggedness.

I've bought a Comp4S a few weeks ago, and they have a whopping 8 year battery life. That's way longer than I have left on this planet, so that was really a mute point. I chose it because of the abuse ratings that the Army gave it, and since I'm a Klutz at times, I wanted the one that would handle even my inept self in the woods. (if there's a tree available to run into, my AR will find it and kiss it hello!) Aside from that, I love this sight because my rifle shoots much tighter groups than I was able with some of the other sights that I own.
