Should I go with the new 2 MOA T-1 or go with the CompM4. I like the T-1, only concern is the limited Field of View you get out of the lense it self (yes I shoot both eyes open). However, on the other hand my concern with the CompM4 is perhaps its too heavy? What are everyone's thoughts. P.S. - If I were to go the CompM4 route, would it be practical to replace the mount that it comes with with a LT mount? The bulb screw on the original mount seems to stick out quite a ways...

Both are great optics, but I am loving how light and small the Micro T-1 is

Regarding the weight, I wouldn't worry about the difference of

T-1: 3.7oz w/ Mount, 3.0oz w/o Mount

CompM4: 11.8 oz. w/mount

A half a pound is significant, but how much will you be carrying it?

I went with a heavy barrel on my build, and the only time I am aware of the difference in weight is if I'm handed another AR with a lighter barrel, and have one in each hand.

I would say, pick the one you want, and don't worry about the weight.

Good advice, I will not be carrying it that much, but I want the ability to be able to carry it all day if need be, whether I am doing a shoot, or a tactical training course, or a SHTF with out rule of law situation. I think its smart to be light in those situations, and I also think its smart to practice with what you would actually use. However, there is always good weight and bad weight, but I am just so stuck. Does anyone here that has a t-1 find that the diameter of the optic is too small and makes it difficult to acquire new targets? Or is this a non-issue really.

The size of the viewing window has been a turn off for some. I would say the best thing to do is to try them, if you have access. I had an M4s briefly, and wouldn't mind having another one again. The battery life coupled with how easy it is to find AAs means virtually unlimited life. Initially the M4 had the advantage of the 2 MOA dot, but now that the T1 is available in 2 MOA, that playing field has been leveled. Either one would be a good choice.

Getting a LT mount is always (IMHO) a positive upgrade. Pay a little extra to get the LT mount and you will make your AR platform very versatile in the long run. I've got the T-1 Micro on an LT mount and can switch to the Leupold Mark AR scope on an LT mount and have an essentially different firearm.

Worth it for me.

Just my thoughts.

Just last week I got a t-1 (4moa) with tall larue mount and I can't be any happier with the optic. I had an Eotech 552 prior to the t-1 and was worried about the possiblity of a limited field a view also. I shoot both eyes open and there are no issues at all. I personally would go with the t-1 because of the weight savings, longer battery life and it just looks cool with the tall larue mount.

I own both and if money isn't a issue I would go with the m4 or m4s over the t1 I like the larger tube.
I also have an Eotech and prefer the aimpoints over it.

M4 has longer battery life then a micro. Both have better battery life then Eotech

You like EOTech over Aimpoint, I am sorry but I can't trust anything you say after that sentence. Just kidding, but seriously. I can't. Anyways, I seem to be getting a lot of votes on the t-1 side so I am going that route. i figure you can't go wrong if you go light. There is no perfect world I suppose.

Sold my M4S for enough to buy two like new Como M2s in throw lever ARMS mounts. Don't regret it in the least. Love my T1.

I would go with the T-1 over the compM4 just due to the size... the compM4 will have a few more settings but it isn't anything that you would need.  When it comes to it the size of the dot / night vision compatibility are the things that matter most.. then you look at weight.. track record ect.  I have personally owned a compM4 and a PRO as well as several EOTechs and ACOGs and I personally still prefer the EOTech to the Aimpoint.  I have never had any issues with EOTech... I really think that EOTech beats Aimpoints out on the "cool factor" so a lot of Aimpoint owners will really hype up the "issues" that EOTechs have had.  If you have never owned an EOTech you might buy one as a back up or borrow one from a friend for a few weeks before making a decision.  I run my rifles hard... never had an issue with my bushmaster or my EOTech... both get a lot of shit talked about them and i really would like to see some vids to back up the claims that these people make... don't trust too much that you read on this site considering anyone can tell you anything.  Just like people saying that PSA is mil-spec and that they are better than your Smith and Wesson, RRAs, Bushmasters, ect but then i talked to someone who customizes and sells weapons to law enforcement agencies and sometimes military.  Don't get me wrong... he loves PSA and wears a PSA hat everywhere but he said that PSA uppers are not close to mil spec and i would be a dumbass to get rid of my bushmaster that runs well to get a PSA.  There are some serious misconceptions on these forums so your best bet is to use an optic yourself and make your own conclusions.  EOTechs and Aimpoints are both good quality and you will notice little difference between the T1 and CompM4 other than the weight.

I have both (on different rifles... the T-1 is the 4MOA version).

Personally, I prefer the T-1. The CompM4 is a great optic... it really is. The battery life is insane, the tube size gives great FOV, etc. But the T-1 doesn't give up much in either category and I find the weight savings to be enough to matter (OK, it won't matter if you just take it to the range, but if you ever have to carry it much, those ounces will matter). The activation switch on the T-1 is better; the CompM4's switch is a bit loose and the numbers on the T-1's switch are an easier way of keeping track of brightness settings. The M4 is a bit better if you plan to use a magnifier (lines up a little better, but it still isn't that bad with the T-1).

IMO, if you want the LaRue mount, just get the mount/optic combo from LaRue and be done with it, whichever you choose.

I would say H-1, unless you have nvg.  If you shoot with both eyes open fov is irrelevant, why go bulkier more expensive and heavier?

I like how the t-1 has a smaller view window, because it gives me more peripheral vision, and is not really big or heavy. I have used a t1 knockoff which was a bushnell trs-25 and i liked the sight picture a lot cause it helps me zero in on my target at various distance. No tunnel vision either.
