Aimpoint problem > Optics, Mounts, and Sights

Hi

I have an H-1 that is mounted in a Larue––––-was previously on a RRA upper with no issues

Upgraded to a Colt upper and now I can't sight it in––––––its shooting Low and Right and I'm at the limits of the adjustments for the H-1 (can't come any more to the Left and Up)

Am I going to have to shem the base(by the way Larue doesn't make shims––already checked) or is there some other fix???

I thought the way to avoid these types of issues was to buy quality equipment––––silly me!!

I would appreciate any help.

Sounds like a barrel issue. What is the story on the upper and barrel?

try laser bore sighting it if you can get one??maybe that well get you on paper

throw some irons on that colt upper and see if you can zero them. if you can't then you know its the upper, which is gonna be my guess.

Yup, if it zero'd on another upper and wont on the new one I'd be suspicious of the upper, not the optic. Remount it on the old upper, check operation and try irons on the new upper. I think that'll answer your question pretty quickly.

I had a new upper with a similar issue. Sent it back and it was re-barreled to resolve it.

upper is not machined square. I had a barrel that was mounted to a unsquare upper and it took 75 clicks of adjustment on a leupold M4 to get it zero'd.....colt's not any more magical than any other random forged upper. send it back

Leaning towards barrel issue
It zeroed with irons......had to adjust in the same direction a significant amount

Had a DD barrel that did the same thing. It happens.
