| Im wondering is it worth buying a mako Magnifer for my M-4. Will this Magnifer make it better to see bulls eye at 200 yards. I was told the one with gold ring around it is the best Mako is this right? |

Get the magnifier with the coloured ring, or you may have quality issues. We have dropped these lower-end magnifiers, but they are still in stock with distributors and have been picked up by gm-gear.com. We are concentrating only on the MIL-SPEC optics by Meprolight. |

Last year, I pulled one of every magnifier we carried from inventory, to research my purchase. I settled on the Vortex VMX3 in the swing mount. I really liked the EOTech, mostly for the Samson Flip-To-Side mount. After looking through them all, I couldn't justify the additional expense of the EOTech. The mount Vortex bundles with the VMX3 is made by ADI, American Defense Manufacturing. ADM makes two different heights of the swing mount, but Vortex only bundles the low mount. The only issue I have with it is that the rubber housing on the Vortex encounters interference from my BUIS (a GG&G) when I swing it. Some folks have taken an X-Acto knife to their housing, relieving it so it clears the BUIS. The taller mount would likely solve my problem (as would a lower profile BUIS) without having to do surgery on the magnifier.
