When I first started shooting years ago I always sighted in my AR's (6920s) and other rifles for 100 yards with POI in the center of a bullseye, because that is the range that most of my shooting is performed at. Typically I would sight in at 25 yards, than once I was hitting the paper where I wanted to I would take it to 100 yards and adjust the sights accordingly.
I never knew if this was right or wrong, and to be honest I never oaid attention to the BZ that is mentioned in the manuals because I knew I would always be on the 100 yard range. Now, this summer I am going to try and take some carbine classes, should I rethink my zeroing methods? |
