I tried to search this because I'm sure it's been asked before but I can't get any results out of searching these forums. I apologize for clogging up the site with what I'm sure is a repeat question. I have a spare 4x scope with a 1" tube laying aorund and I'd like to put it on my flat-top to see how she groups. I prefer to work her out on the open Troy flip ups, so I want a good QD that won't show wear on my rail and will hold a reasonable zero when re-mounted. I don't mind spending a few bucks, this is a custom M4 build I had put together and I love the rifle. I fair certain she'll group fairly well and if so I'll probably pick up a scope more suited to the purpose in the near future but for now I just wanna try her out on one of my slug gun scopes.
Thanks, -BunnMan |

It would be hard to find any QD mount better than Bobro..

Use their supplied allen wrench? Are the rings riveted to the base, or is it one piece mount with what appears to be rivets for decoration only.

The OP is looking for a good QD mount that will return to zero won't cause any wear to his rail and he willing to spend the money for a good one. What do you recommend? I'm not here for a argument just giving the OP my recommendation on a mount. I still say Bobro is a fine mount. I own all three of the mounts mentioned. I don't deem it absolutely necessary to torque the ring screws. Mine worked out just fine without torque specifications. I don't sweat the small stuff. And i don't torque the lugnuts on my vehicles either. |

As others have stated, Bobro, ADM, Larue would all serve you well. |

Thanks for the help folks. I picked up a LaRue off Gunbroker at a fair deal. Now I gotta find a 30mm scope I dig to live in it. I'll use my spare 1" scope with some bushings for now but since I started shopping mounts I really wanna get something worthy of my AR :)

I'm sure there are others (both from LaRue and other manufacturers) that are available in 1" versions as well. |
