I am wanting an Illuminated MilDot reticle 30 mm tube. The scope will be used for. I have been looking at the Trijicon accupoint, Burris tactical and Vortex Viper. It will be going on top of my new CMMG SASS 308. My max range for shooting on my farm is 6-700 yds. My range for practice is only out to 500 yds. I have a budget of about 800$ might be able to stretch it to 900$ depending on what it is.

Trijicon Accupoint 2.5-10/56 TR22-2G Mildot green. $850
Burris tactical 3-12/50 XTR. $950
Vortex Viper 4-16/50 PST $850

I just don't really know what would be the best option for what I am planning or if the illumination is worth the extra cost? Is it worth being able to see after league shooting light to not be able to make e shot LEGALLY?

I know a little about the Burris and trijicon lines but know nothing about the vortex brand scopes. I know the vortex crossfire 4-16/50 illuminated is on CLOSEOUT SALE for $149.99. THAT'S CHEEP!!!!!  I am a little lery. Just need some help from guys that have been down this road and made mistakes that they remember and want to pass on to fellow arfcommers.

Have a Trijicon Accupoint 2.5-10x56 with standard post reticle and red triangle. So far I love it, but wish I would have picked up the mil dot version now.   Right now it would get my vote.

Another thing to consider....I went to the Bushnell Outlet store and was able to pick up a Bushnell 3.5-21x50 scope with Horus Tremor2 reticle in first focal plane, 34mm tube, and sunshade.....total price was $1126.......less than $300 more than the Trijicon Accupoint scope, but MSRP was over $2200! You can get them from SWFA right now for $1298 if I remember right. Match with a Larue mount and there's no way to lose.
