I think I'm ready to buy an Eotech EXPS3 Holo sight and 3x magnifier.
I keep seeing references to "cowitness". What is it and how does it affect me?
I have a Colt 6940 with flip up iron sights if that makes a difference?
Thanks,
Al

Co-witness is just the relation of the iron sights to the tube or window of an optic.

Absolute means that the iron sights will be centered in the tube/window.

Lower 1/3 means that the irons will be visible through the bottom third of the tube/window.

It's a matter of personal preference.

1) So I can flip my sights down and not see them at all? Is this what most people do?
Seems like the visual through the Eotech would be pretty busy with the Holographic dot and an iron sight.
2) Do I need special mounts to raise the Eotech enough to put the sights in the lower 1/3 in stead of centered, assuming I want that?
Thanks
