| looking for an optic like the leopold ar series or nikon ar series with mil dot x mil dot reticle that is illuminated (not a red dot) and under $500 anything good out there in this range? mostly for punching holes at a few hundred yards with a 20" barrel 9x or 12x max magnification is fine, I am sure there are more then just these 2 brands that make a ar specific optic |

| I would go with the Nikon M223 3-12x42. It does not have a mil dot reticle, but the BDC 600 reticle is nice. I have used it on various ARs out to 500 yards. |
