I'm new to the AR 15 business so please be patient with me.  I have a Bushmaster AR 15.  A friend who was a Marine with M16 experience helped sight it in.  We sighted it for 100 meters, however, I've decided I would like change this and zero it for 50 yards.  I need some advice on performing the rezero.  I'm a municipal police officer and feel the 50 yard zero distance would be more practical for my needs.  In looking at some ballistic information for 62 grain bullets it shows that if zeroed at 50 yards the bullet should be 1.51 inches low at 25 yards and 2.26 inches high at 100 yards.  Hopefully that's correct.

If I understand the process to reset the zero where I want it I will need to move the rear elavation knob two clicks up from the 6/3 setting to the "Z" mark then make any remaining elevation adjustments using the front sight post.  Also make any windage adjustments needed.  When the rifle is zeroed turn the rear elevation knob back down two clicks to the 6/3 setting, and it should be good to go.  Does this sound correct?   If I'm off base here please correct me.  Your input will be appreciated.  Thank you!
