| Which do you all think is better? The EOTECH with the 3X Magnifer or the Aimpoint with the Amipoint Magnifier? Right now Im leaning towards the EOTECH. |
|
Quoted: both are good eotechs have a better reticle and are faster. aimpoints have better battery life and seem to be a hair more durable both will server you well, IM inbound First reply and all that. I have multiples of each and love them all –– different sights for slightly different applications IMHO. |

If you have any kind of astigmatism, the reticle may look strange. You might want to try both and see how each reticle looks to you. |

I think I like to EOTECH sight a little more than just the Aimpoint red dot. |

I have both a XPS2 and Aimpoint's and MUCH prefer the Aimpoint's Don't get me wrong, The new XPS and EXPS EoTech's are a solid piece of kit but the Aimpoint's offer several advantages over EoTech IMHO. Aimpoint Insane battery life (3-7 Years) Interchangeable mounts to suite the weapon for co-witness Faster controls Better value (PRO = $410 XPS3 = $523 for the same NV capability) Ability to use a ARD Always on capability EoTech Some people like the reticule better More brightness settings |

I have an Eotech 516 on one gun and I love the thing.
I have an Aimpoint pro on another gun and I love the thing I just got an Eotech EXPS 2-0 and I love the frickin thing I'm ordering the Aimpoint Micro T-1 tomorrow and I'm sure it will be great. Between the two I don't think you can go wrong with either. |

As far a Eotech's having a better reticle, well, that is going to be personal preference and if you can try both Aimpoint and Eotech to see what work's for you, that would be really helpful. I have an Eotech with the circle and dot reticle and I wish that I would have gone with just the dot as that works better for me. |

Which Aimpoint are you looking at? I have a Comp M4, which has a 2 MOA dot. The 2 MOA dot is nice and bright, and I can target quite quickly, but since it's relatively small, it allows pretty good precision at longer distances. Eotech reticles are bigger, and my understanding is they are less precise at longer distances. |

Both have their pros and cons. If you want an optic you can leave on without worrying about battery replacement, get an Aimpoint. If you want an optic with a higher CDI factor, get an Eotech. I've owned both and I'm going back to the T1.
It's simply untrue that Eotechs aren't reliable enough to bet your life on, it is one of the most popular duty weapon optics ever made. From SOCOM to SWAT. BUT Aimpoints are more reliable. It's arguable whether the eotech is faster. It can be in the right hands, but it's not as simple as if you have an eotech you're faster than if you had an aimpoint. |
