So earlier in the year I bought an NXS 1-4X24 compact for the AR.  I'm not completely happy with the reticle I chose which is the FC-2.  Great reticle for close in and I like it for that but I find I'm shooting more and more out to 100-200 yds and would like to change the reticle, which nightforce offered as a service when I bought the scope.  Anyway, their website has stated because of their new product demands they are unable to provide this (and other previously offered) conversions/services until Jan next year.  This is at least a second time line slip as for the last few months they said it would not be available until sept. this year.  Seems they are definitely focusing on sales rather than aftersales service.  If they are gonna shelve this service indefitly or permanently they should just say so rather than not honoring their original website statements.

Just a minor rant born of frustration and a heads up for anyone interested.  Otherwise like the product............

I understand your frustration.  Since they've acquired the military contract, they gone backordered for 26 weeks.  I'm sure when they are caught up, they will be able to offer those services again.  If all else fails, try trading it for one with the reticle you want.

Looks to me like there's animals that need killin':

From the interwebs:

Nightforce Inc., Orofino, Idaho, was awarded a $25,767,124 firm-fixed-price contract May 10 for family of dayscopes, spares, repairs and upgrades, the U.S. Department of Defense reported on its Defense.gov Web site. Dayscopes will be used by special forces for the Army, Navy, Air Force, and by Marine Corps snipers.

The work, to be performed in Orofino, is expected to be completed by April 2015, the department said. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.

The contract was competitively procured and solicited via the Federal Business Opportunities Web site, with one offer received, the Department of Defense said. Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane, Ind., is the contracting activity (N00164-10-D-JQ23).

Changing out a reticle is not worth the scratch anyway. I think you will loose much less money selling it and buying one with the reticle you like. If I remember correctly US Optics price for changing a reticle in one of their scopes is in excess of $500 and USO is a small custom work focused company that can more easily handle jobs like this than Nightforce.

What trouble are you having with the reticle? I have it and it works great on 10-12" plates out to 250 yds without any holdover.
