I did mine at 50 yds.

50 yard here also

I prefer a 100 yard zero on scopes with ranging type reticles. It puts the zero at the top of the ballistic arc which makes for simpler elevation adjustments IME.

That's a good point.  I'm a holdover guy and rarely shoot past 200 yards.  If I went past that with any regularity I'd probably zero at 100 as well.

100 meters here, mainly for consistency with my precision bolt rifles with similar mil-scale scope reticles.

200y/50y here, but +5.5mil is a ~20y zero i use for close range matches

So it's pretty much a toss up then.

Both have their places––it depends on what you want to do with it.

The 50 yard zero is more of a set it and forget it battle zero that puts the point of impact within a couple inches of point of aim from contact distance to about 250 yards. The point of impact is above the point of aim from 50 to 220 yards and below it at closer and further distances. I use a 50 yard zero for RDOs and similar optics that I don't adjust once zeroed.

The 100 yard zero provides the flattest trajectory out to about 200 yards, and is easier to adjust for elevation (using turrets or reticle) since the point of impact is below the point of aim at all distances other than 100 yards. I use a 100 yard zero for precision scopes, ACOGs, and other scopes that have externally adjustable turrets or ranging reticles.
