Choice of 1-4 scope > Optics, Mounts, and Sights

Have a pretty limited budget right now, and will for some time to come. Looking for practical and 3 gun plus this is my main home defense also
Millet DMS
Burris Tac-30
Nikon m-223
New Optisan from swfa

Also will be going into Larue mount.

And any others in the price range I missed that are recommended. Thanks for the help!!

You can save some more coin going with a NONquick detatch scope mount like the RRA or Burris. Or even more going with millet rings.

On one of my ARs I have the M223 1-4x20 in the Nikon mount.

It has no illumination, the glass is first rate and the mount is solid.
At 1x it has more field of view than my Aimpoint and is very quick.
4x allows me to hold very good groups at 100 yards.

TAC30 is leading your poll, and with good reason.

Optical quality is great at the price point and the reticle works well for 3gun. Great value in a 1-4.

I see that Burris has a QD mount shown on this page.

I've been through Rock River's Mount Page and there doesn't appear to be any QD mounts, just standard mounts.

I chose the "lesser of the evils", the Tac 30.

If I wasnt restricted to those choices, I would go with either a TR24 or the SWFA SS 1-4

None of the above, Vortex Viper 1-4x for the win! Wilson Combat,RRA, and Armalite all offer solid Non QD mounts as well.

I would get the Nikon African 1-4x before I would get the m-223. I had a m223 before and I traded it off because of the "adjustable turrets". They are far to sensitive and hokey. Why do you need that on a 1-4x? The African is the same scope with a German 4 reticle which is very fast and easy to pickup. It also doesn't have the adjustable turrets so IMO it would be more reliable.

I'd save for a MeOpta K Dot but if you have to I'd go Burris.
