I have two TA11's one with the circle/dot and the other with the chevron, both red....my next one is going to be a green cross hair reticle. I looked at one the other day and confirmed my decision. I think the cross hair will be a great optic to use out to 250~300 yards.
IMO, go with the green cross hair. 77 |
| If you are shooting from 1-300 meters, the crosshair will serve you better as it has a 200M aiming point, the horseshoe has a blank space, (or a gap), where the 200m point should be. You have to kind of guess with the horseshoe rectical. If you plan on going the "Bindon" aiming route for cqb, the horeshoe in probably better. ACOGs are allways a good choice, so just get one and enjoy. |
| Regarding washout, I think people overlook how much brown there is in the great outdoors, not just green. And it looks to me like red washes out over brownish areas more than green does over green areas. My opinion is that red is best used in developed areas with lots of concrete and metal and glass windows. |

a red acog will not wash out in the woods and works great from my experience. I dont have a green acog but I do have a burris ar 322 with red and green reticule and I can honestly say when looking at a deer or coyote in a green field with green illumination the reticule shows up just fine against brown fur . I never saw a green critter in the woods except for a frog , we dont have iguanas or chameleons in south east missouri |
