So i know the topic has been asked what red dot should i buy well i'm looking to buy my red dot... And well i'm having some skepticism what to buy i've been looking at the bushnell trs but i've noticed the red dot is mounted to the pictinny rail does that actually come off it? Then would i need to buy a riser for the sight? I will be mounting this on my armalite m15a4 model. If there are any other brands anyone recommends throw them out there i'm looking to spend 150$ on the sight probably no more or i would need to save a little more ;)

Primary Arms has the Micro-Dot with a RISER on it..

You can also get a .83 riser from Optics Planet for like $20-30 and mount the Bushnell.

These both will give you co-witness.

Plenty of info and feedback in the thread below. The riser is optional but only $118.99 with riser.

Thanks

I will put in my .25 worth on this one....

The Burris XTS-135 Tactical Speed Dot...abit more than the bushnell...but half as much as an AimPoint..It is a very durable RD sight....

I put it through a "torture" test on my ArmaLite AR-10 A4 C in cold weather and it held up Great...now it sits on my ArmaLite M-15 A4 C

I put in a ADM...68H QD mount....Take a look.

http://www.burristactical.com/xts135.html

You can get it at Graf n Sons or Midway for about $250

http://www.grafs.com/retail/catalog/product/productId/1827

and the ADM mount will run you about $105

I know it is abit more than you say you want to spend...but it is better to get "Good" the first time...I know this from experience...

This is what I have and it has been flawless for just about a year. Mount returns to zero and site retains zero. Best money I have ever spent and is backed by a good company. (I actually have two)

Then what about the vortex sparc i've been hearing some good things about that sight. The sight only has 10 brightness settings will that be enough for lets say in the snow maybe rain or during a really bright day?

That's why he's suggested the PRO..about $200 or so less than micro.

Go Aimpoint T1 in a LaRue Tall mount.

My philosophy is to not buy at first but instead to save and buy high quality.

Buy once, cry once.

Look at the Vortex Strikefire and Primary Arms M4.
Pretty good for the $. Both are $150 or less including mount.
I own the Vortex and about to purchase a PA M4.

I agree with the strikefire, I got one and have been quite happy with it just make sure you get the high mount with it. They say the red only version is brighter than the red/green version.

That right there is some very good advice.

The Aimpoint PRO is the best value out there right now.  $400 gets you a real (not a clone or other low grade RDS) Aimpoint, serviceable mount, and lens covers.  You also get the peace of mind knowing that your hard earned dollars are going towards a proven optic that will withstand anything you can throw at it.

Which is why I ordered one a few hours ago.
