| Price not being a factor and considering they both have 2 MOA dots, what would be your choice and why? |
| I got to finger both sights at a gun show and ended up with the PRO. The price was the biggest reason. When looking through the sights that were both mounted on carbines I could tell no diff between them. It has been to the range twice now and works fine so far. I stuck mine in a LaRue mount because I did not like the huge knob on the QRP mount. Very happy with it so far. |

He stated he could tell no diff between the two. He probably added the issue with price because someone would ask him why he picked the pro over the the other. |

What's the difference between the two? Aimpoint's site isn't showing the tech. specs for the PRO.
If the battery life is better on the M3 50,000 hours compared to the PRO's _______ hours then +1 for the M3 If you ever plan on getting a night vision device +1 on the M3 |

You asked what my choice would be and why. The price is the reason I went with the PRO over the M3. Like I said, when looking through them I could see no difference between them. |

I was just on the Aimpoint website and the Pro is listed as 50,000 hours on setting #7, no different than the M3 It also doesn't tell you what the rated hours are for NV mode yet they claim this has 4 NV settings. The M3 has 500,000 hours So this looks like an M3 but with a non extruded high strength aluminum housing. I wouldn't mind buying one. |

I have never thought about it until now but the book that came with my pro is an M3 book. |

Quoted: Price not being a factor and considering they both have 2 MOA dots, what would be your choice and why? I don't understand.... I thought the whole point of the PRO was to be an M3 with less battery life and less price. By saying "Price not being a factor" you are eliminating a large selling point of the PRO. There's also the mount to consider.

I don't think this is a m3 - dumbed down in battery life. Seems to me that it is just a M2 - with the battery life rated to 30,000 hrs on power level 7. Seems like if you crank it up you must get less hrs... let's just say set it on 9, I'm thinking 10,000 hr battery life.
This is still a good deal over the m3, hands down. With that so is the m2 - even if you don't turn it off, leave on 7 or 9... |

You and 10 others posted incorrect data, the PRO has an estimated battery life of 50,000 hours, look 4 posts up Join the "wrong" pile. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=46snSW9f7ik It's a M2 with 2moa and 30.000 hrs. (which is plenty) There where several Aimpoint reps that said the same thing. I have M2's and 3's and would buy a pro in a heart beat. |

Aimpoint is at fault for saying one thing and then publishing another. The rep in the video also stated the M2 has a 3 MOA diode yet we all know them to be 4 MOA. Everything I have read up until recently stated 30,000 hours for the PRO. The current information as of yesterday for the PRO on Aimpoint's website is 50,000 hours and uses ACET unlike the M2 which uses CET. What is interesting when checking again today is the PRO has been pulled from the website. Maybe now we'll get the correct information. |

Big assumption on my part but I think the body construction (non extruded aluminum) may not be considered "MILSPEC" and thus the PRO is not a direct to MIL offering.
Aimpoint is then not required to maintain an MSRP that keeps the MIL pricing where Aimpoint wants it... |
