| Have a chance to buy a Springfield Armory Scope with the BDC for the 69gr match load. What are they worth?. Anyone have one? |
|
Ive owned two of them, bought back in the 90's. Back then the 6x fixed BDC version was $99.00 for the scope, rings and mount combo with the "loaded coupon." They were made in japan back then.
Some of them had issues with canted crosshairs. I sold one and have used the other for more than 10-years now. I'm happy with it. |
| I bought a Springfield Armory rangefinder scope for my 308 matched to 168gr match. I paid $150 for the scope but the interweb said it was $500 and some change. When I bought the scope it was a newly opened gun shop that did not have all of thier stuff priced or on the shelves yet and when I picked up the scope and asked what the price was, the salesman asked another salesman behind the rifle counter, how much for the Springfield scope, and he said, "I think it's $150, and if you buy the scope we will throw in the mounting rings for free and bore sight your rifle for you". I jumped all over that! The scope was a very good scope and kept zero through all my road trips to where I hunt. It had pretty decent glass and the only reason I do not have it on my 308 right now is it was a fixed power scope and I put a Nikon on instead. SWFA was willing to give me $150 trade-in NO QUESTIONS ASKED, if I bought a scope from them but I kept it so I think they are worth more than $99. This was right before they stopped producing Springfield scopes. |
