I''m a newb to these.  I just picked up an ACR and it came with the MBUS for the front and rear sites.  Pretty nice, they are very light and seem pretty solid.  Since they are plastic and not metal, how do they hold up to being banged around and holding zero?  I could throw it down the driveway for a test and that hardened Tier-1 operator look but I'm not really made of money.

Has there been any combat use with them, or people really running them hard?

Yeah, but the idea for back up sights is that they are bomb proof, so when all your fancy optics fail you have something you can count on and fall back to.  Was typically BUIS here for Iron, but it looks like Magpul calls them BUS since they aren't all iron or metal.

I'm also asking because I do like them.  They are light and should do the job at a great price.  I have a few more that could use them.

FWIW, my rifle with a rear MBUS bounces around a trunk five days a week. No adjustments have been needed.

I like mine. I have them on two rifles. I would use troys or fixed sights if they were my primary sights though. They are great for back ups.

I bought Troy sights for my ACR. The MBUS are back-up back-up sites that live in my field repair tackle box.

I think they are fine. I use rears.
I also think its the same argument over & over. metal vs plastic.

I have been over here in Iraq for two months and have a MBUS rear sight on my issue gun.  The issue back up sight broke in MOB training so I ordered a MBUS on the range that day with my Black Berry.  I will admit there is no real close combat going on where I am at, but I I do have to drag this rifle everywhere I go from shitter to chow hall.  I am consatantly in and out of various vehicles some of them armored and some not and this thing is like a rock.  It has not changed zero, or show any signifcant wear and tear.  We have replaced about a quarter of our Matech sights since August when we started MOB training.   Mostly the springs where out on them and they constantly flip up on their own.  I give the MBUS a solid A+.

I also appreciate the feedback as I'm thinking about grabbing one of these.  Why spend double if this will work just fine?
