Is the only difference in the M4 and M4s the battery location?

If so, then why the two models? I would think having the battery compartment down and out of the way would always be a good idea.

I just picked up an M4 and noticed the M4s on their website. Was just curious. Don't know that I would pay $50 extra for that feature or not.

Edit: Is there an extension for the factory QRP mount that makes it a lower 1/3 co-witness? The one that came with it appears to be absolute.

That is the only difference, and I don't know why they have both. I have the M4S; I like the lower battery position.

I think if you take the riser out of the middle, it will give you 1/3; but I haven't tried it. I'll be buying a LaRue mount as soon as I can.

Ok. That was the only difference I could find. I think the lower battery position looks better but could not figure out why rotating the battery position would make it worth more.

I think if I took out the middle spacer it would be upper 1/3. Really low. Normally I run to Larue also, but I think I like the new QRP. Seems solid and the knob does not stick out a mile like the old one. Going to give it some time before I replace it.
