Looking to throw a 2.5x10-32 on top of a 16" .308 OBR and I'm curious what peoples opinions are of these and what reticles people are using.

I like the idea behind their Velocity reticles but I'm not so keen on using it with a SFP scope. I'm limited to the Mil-Dot (which I'm ok with as mil turrets are an option) or the NP-R2. I don't like any of the other reticle options available.

The Mil-Dot looks fine and as long as I can still get the turrets in mil's then it's a decent option. Not very familiar with ranging and dialing in mils but it's easy enough to pick up and it would be a good skill to have. I just can't do it off the top of my head like some guys. It would be nice if it were a FFP but they don't offer that option in the compact scopes. As far as the Velocity reticle, I really like the idea of having a BDC, only problem is I don't reload so I'm stuck with whatever load comes close to the BDC or I have to dial in MOA or kentucky windage in between stadia, effectively making the BDC useless. 175grn FGMM @ 2465ish is close to the LV reticle but I'd still need to click some elevation. If I'm going to run the elevation I might as well just get the mil-dots and click to POA/POI every time. On top of that, again it's SPF so the reticle only works at 10x. Am I mistaken in my logic? Anybody want to chime in?

I went with the velocity reticle.  It is mounted on my 16" Noveske barreled 6.8 SPC upper.  I reload my own ammo, and I load them pretty
hot to get them to a near exact match with the LV (low velocity) reticle.  I have to make a total of 3 clicks clear out to 600 yards with my
115 grain OTM ammo.  This is the ammo that I shoot the most because I can load it for about $27/100 rounds.  When I shoot my hunting
load, which is a 95 gr. Barnes TTSX, I don't have to adjust it at all.  I am within .25 MOA clear out to 600.  To me, the few clicks I have to
make with my most used ammo is a small price to pay to have a BDC reticle that is spot on out to 400 and only a click or 3 away beyond
that.  For me I won't have to click anything for 99% of my shooting.

After a lot of thought on what reticle to get II went with the Mil/Mil. I wanted to have the most versitility as possible and the mil dots look outstanding through this scope.

.10Mil knobs and the Mil-Dot reticle aren't a bad option and if MOA is your preference, then you can go with .25MOA knobs and the NP-R2 reticle. Either are capable of ranging as well as leads, holds, etc. Unfortunately, unless you're running the 155grn Match stuff out of the 16" OBR - you're going to have a hard time making even the low velocity reticle work with that rifle as the 168grn and 175grn loads aren't fast enough to really match up with it.

I really like my mildot reticle.  I've gotten used to the moa turrets but for simplicity, wish I had mil turrets.
