| I have an M2 on the wife's AR, damn tired of changing batteries (and trying to find them locally). I've decided to dump it and get her a T-1. Any thoughts on what it should be worth? It's an OLD one, it has the safety wires holding the caps, not the rubber unit. |

Those old ones are just worth scrap but for nostalgua sake I'll give you $20 for it just get me your address and I will get you the $20 How long is a battery lasting? Is it eating them. I am no expert but it should be worth $250 or more unless something is wrong and it is eating the batteries. |

| OP from your discription, what you have there is a Comp M or ML NOT A M2 . It should say on the outside of the Batt. compartment what model it is. Those commonly go for around $150-200 or so on the EE. As you have found out the battery life on the Comp M series is not the same as the M2,3,or 4 or micros. Hope this helps |

I had a Comp M and sold it to purchase the M2. As to the battery life here is a listing I found: Battery Life - CET technology, 1.000-10.000 hours average Considering a month (31 days) is 744 hours, and it MAY be getting slightly better life than a month I'm in the range (Low range)! |

Ok. Your decription of the "wire" tether and battery life was why I tought it was a Comp M. If the sight is marked M2 and your not leaving it on the MAX setting (not sure why you would) then something is WRONG with your Aimpoint. You sould be able to keep it on the 7 position for around 1 year of more. That is my experince and Im sure others will chime in and say that also. Does yours have that small set screw on the Objective bell?? I know those are the "older" one's but Im petty sure that the M2 never came from the factory with the "wire" tether's only the "rubber" ones. Maybe someone swaped them out at some point? I have seen M2's go for around $250 |

I have seen M2's go for around $250 O.K. NOW I'm P.O.ed! After these posts I thought..."Maybe I'd better look at it closely". It is marked Comp M, it came in a M2 Box years ago. I didn't bother to closely check it. I bought the same damn red dot I sold! I don't even remember who in the hell I purchased it from! |

I suspect I purchased it from Jerry's Sport Center (Simmons Guns, Spring Hill KS). But I have trouble remembering what I had for lunch yesterday. It's been WAY too many years ago. Wherever it came from it was a wholesaler. |

LOL Seriously though........that sucks pretty hard. Well if its Comp M then you are getting better battery life than I remember getting when I had one years ago. You should still be able to sell that for around $150-200 range if its in decent shape. And you can find M2's for a little more than that so I would try and sell it and add some money to get a M2,3,4 or Micro. Hell I just scored a T1 w/ larue mount for $460 ftf yesterday!! So deals are out there you just need to watch the EE like a hawk and act fast. ETA: There is Comp M with mount on the EE right now for $280 shipped...............I thougt it was you at first |
