| Has anybody had any experience with these? I was looking at one in my local gun shop, and was really impressed with it. It is really small, and I am going to get one of the new Burris LRS 1-4s from Midway, and mount this 45 degrees off center. Dont get me wrong, it isn't going to put Eotech out of business, but then again it was half the price, and looks to be a good value. They had a lot of positive feedback on the internet, though I didn't personally know any owners, so I took the dive. I haven't shot it yet, but can't wait. Let's hear it guys. Thanks, 9080 |
| My dad has one and they are a pretty cool little sight for the money. If you are going to get the burris 1-4 why the RD with it. You cant leave the FF on all the time so in my opinion you could turn the scope down to 1x just as fast as reaching across the top of the rifle and fumbling for the tiny little switch on the FF. Just my observation. My dad got his with the XTR 1-4 and it seemed needlessly redundant to me on a true 1x optic. |

Use one on an FN 5.7 pistol and another on a Benelli M4 shotgun. I like them. Red dot is hard to pick up super fast on the pistol; that shouldn't be an issue on a carbine. Battery lasts a long time, but sight has to come off to change it. You may lose your zero in some cases.

| I have one on my AK. I've never had a problem with brightness or washout, even during outdoor 3-gun matches. Zeroing is a minor pain since there are no clicks for adjustment. But, it's held zero, it's clear, and it's light, so I can't ask for much more than that. |
| Primary Arms just came out with a similar optic that is less expensive. |

I run a 1-4x24 scope on a dedicated .22 AR, supplemented by a Docter dot sight offset on the handguard at about 1 o'clock. The reason I do this is to be able to have the scope for medium range and the dot for close range in practical shooting. With the loopy trajectory of the .22 it means I don't have to worry about re-zeroing or judging excessive holdovers on stages that include shooting at greatly differing distances.
This also translates onto my .223 AR where I am considering doing the same with a dot using a 25m zero, for the occasional close -up shot (and of course just because I can). I had a Burris Fastfire first, which is fine and performs equally well as the Docter, plus I liked the on/off switch on the Burris. They may well get swapped around, as I think these ittle dots are great bits of kit. I use Eotechs on my work carbine and personally I prefer the dot/sight picture offered by either of the small dots. The Eotech wins out on ruggedness though. |

For only $75 I'd rather have the PA version. |
