Looking to put a mini red dot on top of a 14.5" BCM carbine. Still haven't decoded which route to go. I'm thinking of either the PA Micro Dot (gen 2) or the iTAC RDS1. Both are $80. Normally the iTAC is around $150-$200. I asked this same question on another forum and people were suggesting the SPARC which is about $200. If I'm going to go that route, I will bite the bullet and get an Aimpoint H-1. Anyone have experience with the iTAC?

No, I bought the SPARC instead but I will get the iTac or Primary Arms version soon, the SPARC works really good for me , no problems with it at all.

I'm an EOTech/ACOG guy myself (sold off my Aimpoint stuff), but I do have one PA T-1-type RD (Gen2) because it fit my application (AR pistol).  It's a very good little sight.  The dot is visible in bright sunlight, holds zero, and mounted right up to the LaRue QD mount.  I wish I could advise you on your other considerations, but I have no personal experience with them.  IMHO, the PA mini is an excellent bang for the buck.  The others are probably fine, too, but I just have never used them.

I'll give a thumbs up to the PA micro.

Im a huge fan of the Burris fastfire 2, great sight and automatically adjusts dot brightness depending on light conditions. They run about $200 and its a well made sight.

The Itac is a POS for sure.  It is the BS optic that Sig uses on their Sig 556 rifles and Pistols.  It is a very poor quality optic.  Stick with Vortex or Primary Arms on the lower end.  Get an Eotech Exps or Aimpoint T-1/H-1 on the high end.

Thanks for all the replies. I already have an Eotech XPS so I wanted to try something different. I think I've moved past my previous choices and am now deciding between the Vortex SPARC and the Aimpoint H-1. Kind of leaning towards the SPARC because of the cost savings.
