was wondering if the first 4 settings on the comp M3 are visible to the naked eyes in a dark enviornment. or is it only visible with NV.
on my ml3 i can start seeing the dot on setting three. |

I could see the 2nd (if in total darkness) and 3rd and fourth if it was mostly dark out.

The diode in the M3/ML3 are the same, the difference is in the lens coatings (and seals for water depth) that reflect more IR light back, so the visible light wont damage the tubes when you crank it up to see the IR spectrum of the dot. FWIW on my current T1 Micro I can see the dot starting on setting 3/12 (in my room with all lights off). first and second settings I cant see (maybe if in pitch black for 15-20 minutes so my night vision has totally adapted) |
