How are Colt's sighted in at the factory?Range, method, etc.

They aren't sighted in at the factory.  And the detachable carry handles usually aren't even tightened down.

Mine was fairly close out of the box though.  It was only about 2 MOA off.

My nine rifles and carbines, (currently have an A2 rifle and two 6721 carbines) mostly are the same as yours, except one A2 carbine was dead on I didn't have to adjust it.

It's up to the owner to bzo his/her rifle, not the factory. Everyone will have a different zero, so why would the factory be responsible for sighting in a gun?

How would they spot a canted front sight?

They use a jig that holds the FSB centered during assembly.

Test firing is a bad time to decide to QC for front sight cant...

I've never had a factory Colt even close to being sighted in. I really doubt they even test fired one I had because the rear sight was off 17 clicks to the right and I sent it back to get fixed which they did(dead nuts center after that).

They're all test fired, that's why there is brass residue on the bolt face and powder in the barrel. How would they realize your problem by function firing if they don't sight the weapon? Furthermore, why would they sight in the weapon? The zero is different for each shooter.
