I am looking for a new sight post for my rifle. I have the stock A2 style front sight but I hate how wide the post is on it. I am looking for something a little thinner and that maybe goes to a point. If anyone could point me in the correct direction I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

Pointed would seem to be something you would NOT want.  I think I would need the well-delineated top of the post, as I use a 6:00 hold for targets and everything else...

I tipped mine. Its like aiming with the Washington Monument for your FSP. The problem is that if it doesn't contrast well its easy to loose which causes more vertical stringing. Neon paint makes a big difference though. its easy enough and if you screw up or don't like it you only need to replace a $3-4 part.

Just mark an x on the top from corner to corner and put a line around the side maybe an 1/8" down and file it down. I turned nine after every couple cuts to keep it even.

ETA- The six o'clock hold annoys me with a rifle (O.C.D.?!). I just can't stand not having pinpoint control over POI. It is much more tolerable with a rifle length sight radius.

That's a really good idea and I may have to try it. But is there an alternative like one you can buy and is already tipped? I swear I saw one somewhere but cannot remember for the life of me.

I noticed this afternoon that you posted a question very similar to mine, what a co-incidence!  I also just got some great tip just now from a number of posters and in particular Husky629, go to that thread for the great details and tips – well worth while.
