On Aimpoint's website, they state this for the comp M3.
"Optical coating - Anti reflex, 1st, 2nd and 3rd Generation NVD compatible (M2 only)" What do they mean by this? I am understanding it as the M3 is not compatible with 1st - 3rd NVD gear and only the older comp M2 is compatible with 1st - 3rd gen NVD gear. Can someone please clarify this for me? If my understanding is correct, I might as well go with a comp M2 instead of comp M3. |

The M3 is a step ahead of the M2 in every way. It has the latest ACET technology for longer battery life. Regarding the optical coating and night vision compatibility. The M2 only had the AR coating as stated, but the M3 has the multi-layer AR coating as well as the band pass coating for the latest nightvision compatibility. Both work with Gen 1-3, but the M3 has a better coating on the lense. Eitehr way the first four positions get you night vision. The next six are for daytime shooting.
Good luck. |
