IOR 2.5-10X42 with Mil/Mil knobs

I want a mil/mil system and this is in my price range. Don't want to spring for a night force. How good is this scope for being repeatable, durable etc.

Different price point.

I don't want to make this a huge can of worms but I went to a top tier shooting school that specializes in precision rifles and they said USO is so hit and miss on quality that you can't rely on them.

any takes on the scope I am looking at.

Silly question, why don't you want to spend another bill and just get the Nightforce? I've even seen them used on the EE for $1200 and less.

IOR has a reputation for having some very nice glass.  I've never handled one personally, though.

Nightforce

It is only $16 more.

Edit- I don't think I would shy away from the Ior either though, their reputation is pretty good.

Having seen the IOR and not the nf cant quantify this statement, I dont think I would give up 10mm of glass for the nf.  IOR is gtg.

That night force does not adjust in Mils.

The scope I buy HAS to adjust in mils.

Convert, it appears that you've narrowed your own choices and have already settled on what is going to fit your needs.  I am shooting a Nightforce 2.5-10X32 now, but unfortunately you have to have mil adjustments.  I also know that USO is one of the big names in the price range that you are looking in, but I've had more than one guy steer me clear of USO because of quality control issues.  I have looked through and shot more than a couple and the glass was really nice.  I just didn't want to take a chance when plopping down on $1K for glass.

I've never owned an IOR, although I hope to some day.  All I can say is that the ones that I've seen had really clear glass.  At least as clear as that of my Nightforce.  The IORs appeared to have that "built like a tank" quality to them too.  I don't think that you could go wrong with the IOR.  I can't personally attest to the repeatability of the adjustments, but I've read good things.  You might have to check out some other forums to get the info that you're looking for.  Perhaps one of the sniper forums.
