Happens a lot with my 553.  Just put it back and it'll work fine.

Wow, no one saw that coming.

Quit opening your batt compartment in the field.

Yes I did and it was one I bought off EE.

Go here:

http://www.eotech-inc.com/raform.php

Fill out a RA - usually it's $58 to rebuild them.  For whatever reason, they did mine for free.  2 weeks it was back in my hand - oh and my reticle was FUBAR as well.

Typicaly it's 2 years or less covered by warranty.

Sure - Aimpoint has a lot of advantages; however, my eyes just like the Eotech reticle.  I had 2 Aimpoints and couldn't get used to them, so off to EE they went.

I may try a T1 on a build in the future, but for now, it's Eotech.

If you still have bolth black spacer and the two batt springs take the springs carefullyout of the spacers and gently pull on each spring from bolth sides with you fingers streaching the spring slightly. Put it back toghther and chech it. Also be aware when changing batt in the field the black spacers can stick to the batt when removed

Just make sure the spring is in the hole in the center of the black spacer and drop it back in there!   should work just fine unless you lost the spacer.   Use lithium batteries as well!

I've noticed the spacers on  both my Eotechs, my first question was didn't they measure the bat. before they built it?   Why is it like that?

This is what I did to mine. My springs had a fair amount of corrosion on them so I brushed them with CLP and a SS brush.
