Why is the SWFA Super Sniper 10x42 perfered over 16x or 20x? If this is true, someone please give me a class on why? Please forgive me if this is a repost.

16x and 20x have a very narrow field of view, plus they  aren't good in low light or high mirage days. They are good scopes for extremely specific purposes, mainly bench or target under ideal conditions. I personally couldn't stand a fixed power on an AR because that cuts way down on the versatility of the do all rifle, but the guys who use them love them.

That's something you're going to deal with using any higher powered scope, though. I don't think it's specific to SS scopes; as you go up in magnification your FOV will shrink and mirage will be enhanced.

I agree that I prefer a variable on ARs, though a 10x wouldn't be bad for an all around bench/range only gun. I have a 20x that I used on my AR since I was going to have access to 500yds+/- but that fell through. Using the 20x at 100yds was overkill!
