| Finally got around to shooting my Colt 6721 after having ADCO shorten the barrel and pin/weld the FH. And, I took off the carry handle and added an EOTech XPS2-0 and an ARMS BUIS. Wow. This is the first optic of any kind I have had on an AR, and I can shoot rings around the irons with it. I first sighted in the irons at 25, then the EOTech. I moved to the 100 knowing it would be quite high, but I intended to lower the POI to about 3" high which I proceeded to do, as well as make fine adjustment to the windage. This is a pretty good trajectory for close/medium range. The barrel job and ADCOs assembly proved to be first rate. My range ammo was some older US LC and WCC M855, but you couldn't tell it was old from the way it fired. Consistency seemed good - no difference in report or recoil. Man, I am sold on the EOTech. I already picked up a Scopecat cover for it to use as a dust cover. Bottom line, I changed the ho-hum 16" HBAR Colt into a carbine that I will use - I think it's now my favorite. |
| You're right - I'm a slacker. But I was at the range all day - the Colt was the last one to be sighted. I also had to check sighting on a 1911 (adjustable sights) and an M1 Carbine. Probably about 200 rounds altogether. Maybe I can at least get a few pics tomorrow of the Colt, although there's absolutely nothing unusual or interesting about it. I think I saved the 25 yd final targets for the Colt - irons and optic - I'll post those if I have them. |
| No problem on the buttons. I wanted the EOT as close to me as possible - bigger window on the world. Basically you turn the thing on, set the brightness and forget about. If you want to turn it off manually, it's a little awkward but always would be because you have to push both buttons at once. I love the EOT, but for the money I have to say it should have automatic brightness control with a manual adjustment for max/min brightness range. Some of the cheap red dots have auto brightness, IIRC. Whatever, it's truly a great sight and it makes me look forward to using it more. |

I've got the older EOTech 551 but now I'm saving my pennies for the new EXPS3. Also we have the same 6721 but mine is just a new model with the new small 0.154" FCG pins then I just used KAC M4 RAS rails, Magpul AFG, BAD lever, MIAD grip, CTR stock with enhanced buttpad, Troy DOA BUIS, Vickers-BFG sling and Magpul PMAGs. Where did you buy your scope cover? |
