I just picked up a used xps 2-0 and its a pretty nice red dot sight. My only big gripe with it so far is that my CR123 rechargeables do not fit. Will the sight function ok at a little over 4 volts which is what a fully charged cr123 puts out.
Its very heavy IMO for the size but it makes for a very well constructed robust sight. IVe heard some say the rubber buttons can get hard and wear out but it looks like they are easily replaced. |

I run them in a couple of my edc lights and have a couple chargers at home and work. They are not quirky in my experience. Maybe you are thinking of the ones that do not have a protection circuit module? You have to be careful with those.
Like I said, all of my Rcr123's are 3.7 volts but I just found these which are 3 volts and should work so long as they are the same diameter: http://www.batteryjunction.com/rc390reliba.html |

Still wouldn't do it. RCR123s like the one you linked to are about 900mAh. Why not get a primary cell that has about 50% more capacity? for something with such low current drain, I'd rather just throw in non-rechargeables and be done with it. I have a ton of AA NiMH batteries, but I still run Lithiums in my EOTech. |

Its also nice that my local lowes carries surefire primaries 2 for $5. Not the cheapest but there if you need them. |
