I'm looking for something to put on my .22LR upper. I've read through the variable power FAQ thread a couple of times and have narrowed it down to these scopes.
Leupold CQ/T US Optics SN-4S Trijicon TR24 When I started my search I believed I wanted the CQ/T, but the small objective lense started to worry me a little. The US Optics seemed like a good choice, but there has been some complaints about the reticle not being visible in bright sunlight at 1x power. Then the Trijicon I just haven't heard that much about. So what are your thoughts on these scopes or others around this price range. Thanks, |

Considering the neighborhood that you're shopping in, I'd also consider the Nightforce 1-4X NXS. I was looking at the US Optics, but read about some quality control issues. I can't confirm, but never heard anything bad about Nightforce.
As for the reticle being visible, are you referring to the illumination? If so, I don't think that any of them are going to be visible when it really bright out. MIne does a pretty good job, but there are times when all I'm looking at is a black reticle. |

Have you looked through this thread:
Click here It provides user reviews of various low-power scopes across the $$$ range. |
| I checked out the Nightforce 1-4x NSX and I might be leaning that way slightly. Looks like a pretty solid optic. I'm also considering putting this on my 10.5" from the start. So that means I still need something for my .22. Any suggestions for a high quality optic for my .22LR upper. |

Is it getting a Gen-3 NV optic as well? Quoted:
leatherwood cmr 1-4 for the 22 No, some of us poor folks need all of those for our ARs. They haven't been rolled out in enough quantity yet. He NEEDS the USO (though I'd lean towards the PA 1-4) Well, not until those ground squirels start coming at me at night. |

If you are looking for a good quality lower cast scope the Leupold Mark AR are nice.
I also agree the Vortex Viper are nice for the price . I would recommend getting one of the Viper PST when they come out they look very promising. We are doing a preorder on them and have a few left. Here is a photo of the Vortex PST 1-4x.

If you are going to be doing a scope like the SN4 they are nice but I would look at doing scope like the ELCAN Specter DR. I have used all the scope you have listed and out of the 3 I would do the SN3 or the TR24G or R. The QCT is nice but I just prefer the others.
