Any advantage to (or problem with) mounting an A2 rear sight aperture on an A1 upper?

Just haven't ever seen it done before, wondered if there was a reason for that.

Before red-dots and the tac-cool carbines came into play, lots of folks did just this.

I'm considering a lightweight midlength with an A1 upper, and thought the A2 aperture might be a nice addition to the plan.
