| I'm looking for a quality range finder. I really don't know anything about them at all (what features are desirable, what to avoid, etc...). I really want to learn to measure distance using mil dots, but I'd like to be able to use the range finder to check my work. Can someone school me on them or point me in the direction of a good one to buy? |
| A decent one is around $500 for short to mid range distances, if you want to range for long distance you're looking close to $800+ and Zeiss is a good rangefinder in that group. Bushnell and Leica make some in the $500 range and there are pros and cons to each model. If you just want something for around 100 yards you can spend as little as a few hundred, maybe less. The higher priced models let you range objects that a cheaper model will not be able to detect as well as work in enviormental conditions that keep cheaper models from ranging correctly. |
