3x Acog and a mini red dot.  What do you think?

I personaly would have gone for the Doctor/acog combo

That set up is for a righty.  Why would a left try to use it?  Very akward to roll the rifle outboard like you are decribing, almost impossible.

The MRD is a Primary Arms and I like how fast you can transition between the two.  The only thing I don't like is that little guy is a lot bigger now that I have it on there.  It sticks out more than I thought it would.

That's fairly close to the combo I run (I run a 1 o'clock mount for the red dot). Certainly not overkill IMO.

2000 dollars in glass? Feels good man.

I like it. I run an Accupoint TR20 with a FastFire mounted at 1:30 on my handguard on my gaming gun. It's great.

Same here.

But with ARs I've learned to each their own. If you're happy with it, then its not overkill.

Assuming you're relying on the Docter (not Doctor ) sight for close in work, the worst place to put it is up on top of the ACOG where they go. For close in work you want as little sight offset as you can get, and with the Docter/ACOG combo you get a lot. Mounting the little red dot offset on the handguard gives you a far more ideal solution.

Having 3 sets of sights on a carbine is definetly over kill. Now all you need is a flash light a NVO and a laser. Oh and a lunch box, dont forget the lunch box.

Not overkill.  It's called adaptive.  I would go with the Docter, however.

My feelings are that the ta33 has plenty of eye relief to set it further up on your set up to still be able to see with both eyes open and to acquire reliable close in hits 100yds to contact distances.

I haven't found the need to add an Aimpoint to my ACOG but it just depends on what you'll be using it for an if you think you need both.
