I don't quite understand the differnces between the models.

One is batt. powered and useless without batts and the other one is fiber optic and useless at night? Is that what I'm seeing?

The battery powered RMR is just like any other battery powered RDS – no battery, no dot.

The fiber / tritium version uses no batteries and it visible at night.  It uses tritium instead of batteries.
