I would like to set up my AR for a 50/200 meter zero but I would like to do the initial sighting in at 25 meters to get a more precise group.  How far below point of aim should the point of impact be at 25 meters to get the first crossover at 50 meters?  Thank you.

When I've run the zero in a calculator, and zeroed in the field, I believe the proper POI at 25 yards for a 50 yard zero is 1.25" low.

There really is no 100% answer to this. It depends on the height of the sight/scope off the barrel and the velocity of the bullet. That said, I zeroed my rifle at 50 yards dead on. Went and put on paper at 200 yards and I was 2 inches high at 200. I then rezeroed it at 200, went back to 50 yards and was about 1/2 inch low at 50.

The JBM Ballistics Calculator puts me at .1 high at 50 if I'm zeroed at 200 and -1.25 inches at 25. Either way, its always best to actually shoot your rifle at paper at your zero distance and other known distances to see whats actually happening.
