 A good bang for the buck, mid priced Swampfox Arrowhead 1-10X24 SFP illuminated MOA BDC 30mm tube mounted on Warne QD XSKEL QDXSKEL30TW, 0 MOA cant, MSR lever aluminum mount. The new optic is mounted on my Colt model AR-6721 marked AR-15A3 Tactical Carbine with replacement barrel 16" mil-spec CMV steel, midlength gas system, medium contour, chrome lined, M4 feed ramps, 1/7, 5.56 NATO chamber, Rock Creek Barrel blank built by Compass Lake Engineering FL. |

 My second new Swampfox Arrowhead 1-6X24 illuminated Guerrilla BDC reticle, SFP, MOA, LPVO priced from $395 to $439 with Warne MSR QD lever, 0 MOA cant, aluminum skeletonized mount, flat dark earth finish. The new optic is mounted on my Colt SP6920 marked "Sporter M4 Carbine" lower half with Geissele G2S trigger, B5 Systems grip, B5 Bravo SOPMOD stock and Colt LE6920-EPR CK (Enhanced Patrol Rifle) conversion kit upper half with Centurion Arms CMR M-LOK 13.5 inch handguard, M4 gov't contour barrel, Scalarworks Peak 01 fixed front sight, Troy rear folding sight, Geissele Airborne charging handle. |

Not sure I have ever posted this photo. The scope is the sadly now discontinued Weaver Grand Slam Tactical 3-10x40 with mil dot reticle and matching mil rad turrets. Made in Japan. Incredible optical clarity for a basic no frills mil dot non-illuminated scope. Punches way above its weight. Look for one of these used if you can find one and want great glass on a budget. Its only limitation is the limited elevation range due to its 1" main tube. It will get you to about 700 though without a MOA base, depending on bullet and velicity. This was my very first mil based scope. I bought it new for about $300, maybe $350, if memory serves. It was a Weaver/MidwayUSA exclusive. It was intended just to teach me how to use mil rad ranging and use of the turrets. It proved so good it remains on that very capable Sako L579 action, Douglas Premium 6mm Remington barrel custom bolt gun. That rig is deeply sub MOA even with the sporter profile barrel, when shooting hand loaded 55gr Nosler Ballistic Tips at just a bit over 4,000 fps! Virtually ideal for varmint hunting out to 500 yards or so. For those not familiar with the 6mm Remington (virtually obsolete, sadly), it is essentially the 7x57mm Mauser necked down to 6mm. It has a bit more powder capacity than the .243 and can be loaded to about 100 fps faster. The barrel's 1:9 twist will handle Berger 100gr+ VLD target bullets for long range, but I might need a bit more magnification and a 20 MOA sloped mount.

 Sig Sauer Tango MSR 1-6X24 budget model LPVO with Warne SHXSKEL30DE 1.9 inch Super High, over 2 inches of forward Cantilever, 0 cant, dark earth, 30mm MSR mount. The optic Sig illuminated MSR BDC6 Reticle (horseshoe and X-mas tree type) and SFP. It have a good clear lens clarity and reticle. I will be mainly be using this scope for target practice and plinking with my new Colt model CR6960 midlength gas system carbine shown in the pic. I'm now saving for my next Sig Sauer TANGO6T 1-6x24mm flat dark earth finish rifle scope. Primary Arms 3x microprism. I have mine on an ADM qd mount. Weighs a measly 9.3 oz as I have it. Somewhere under 9 with the stock base. Stuck it on a light weight build, with a 14.5 faxon gunner barrel (integrated flash hider), that weighs 7 pounds 15 oz as pictured fully loaded. Great little optic, and a fantastic mount. High cantilever sits a hair higher than an acog if I remember right. Eye relief is better than the 4x acog, field of view better than the 3x. Reticle is plenty bright. 50 yard zero in a 14.5 and the BDC is dead on to 500 yards, at least combat effective wise. Don't know about 600 as M193 doesn't have enough oomph to push the steel  Attached File Attached File Attached File |
