I can get a Burris Timberline ballistic plex 3x9 for just over $100, possibly less with the LE/MIL discount.  I know its an inexpensive scope, but it will be going on a cheap beater AR that I plan on hunting coyotes and wabbits with, so I like the idea of the ballistic plex, and I don't want to dump a lot of money into this rifle.

Any opinions on this particular scope?

I don't know about that particular scope (in use), but I do have the Timberline fixed 4X.  It has nice clear glass, but must have a small exit pupil.  It does a horrible job of bringing in light.  I also recently just compared, in a store, a Burris ballistic plex 3-9X40 to a Bushnell Elite 3200 3-9X (without ballistic plex) and I bought the Bushnell.  I'd suggest that you look into the Weaver V series and the Bushnells, unless you just have to have the ballistic plex of the Burris.

I gotta tell ya, I bought my Timberline because of all of the positive reviews that the line of scopes got, but in use, there were better alternatives.  For me anyway.

Also consider the new redfield Revolution line of scopes, made by Leupold in USA with lifetime warranty.
Just got the 2-7x33 with accu-plex and so far so good. Paid $139.00 before discounts.

I like the little Timberline 3-9. I think there a good deal at SWFA or where ever for $119.95. I have a few mounted on flattops.

I also like the new Redfields and have 2 mounted on Stevens 200's.
