I can get a Burris Timberline ballistic plex 3x9 for just over $100, possibly less with the LE/MIL discount. I know its an inexpensive scope, but it will be going on a cheap beater AR that I plan on hunting coyotes and wabbits with, so I like the idea of the ballistic plex, and I don't want to dump a lot of money into this rifle.
Any opinions on this particular scope? |

I don't know about that particular scope (in use), but I do have the Timberline fixed 4X. It has nice clear glass, but must have a small exit pupil. It does a horrible job of bringing in light. I also recently just compared, in a store, a Burris ballistic plex 3-9X40 to a Bushnell Elite 3200 3-9X (without ballistic plex) and I bought the Bushnell. I'd suggest that you look into the Weaver V series and the Bushnells, unless you just have to have the ballistic plex of the Burris.
I gotta tell ya, I bought my Timberline because of all of the positive reviews that the line of scopes got, but in use, there were better alternatives. For me anyway. |
