What do you guys think? I have the Yankee Hill Flip up front gas block, hasn't come loose yet, but I don't want to take a chance. I have a class April 10th and I want to have my weapon ready.

I'd use loctite, but that gas block gets pretty hot. A member and friend here personally recommended it, but I want a consensus!

I use it on my guns.

It is what Gemtec specs out when installing a flash hider for their QD suppressors. They get pretty darn hot and don't come off.

I'm paranoid. I rockset and then stake the screws.

God help me if I ever need to take one off though.

I've had to remove a flash hider attached with rockset before.  If I remember right, it has a lower shear strength than most locktite but a much higher temperature resistance (hence people using it for FHs).  I didn't have any trouble getting it removed.

Loctite will not do it.  If you have enough meat you might be able to cross drill and add a second setscrew to lock the first.  Rocksett will do just fine.

10-4 guys I appreciate it.

I didn't know this stuff existed.  Are you guys saying that heat won't affect it like loctite, but it will come loose if I want it too?

Sounds like it!

I've been using red loctite for the same purpose that you are intending to use this stuff.  I can only guess that the comparisons made have been to blue loctite.  I know that I used to use red loctite to affix compensators to 1911s and that stuff really sticks.  Sometimes too well.

rocksett is what OPS-Inc recommends for insulation of their collar and brake. But in the instructions it also says you can use red loctite
