Every illuminated optic I've ever owned has had red illumination. I'm considering an ACOG and as as you know, will have three color options. I've noticed a number of people going with the amber and even more going with green. Can someone who has actally used these provide their feedback? I would think that green would get lost in foliage, grass, etc and amber would get lost in late summer when everything is that burnt tan color (or all the time in a desert environment).
Any feedback would be appreciated. |
| The images in there were indeed helpful. The green doesn't not seem to have as much of a contrast issue as I figured it would but the red still appears to stand out more (at least to me). Thank you for the feedback everyone. Now after seeing all those reticles I have a couple of other optics to consider. |

My thoughts and experiences with reticle colors (ACOG):

I have a Accupoint with the amber milldot and like it, but I recently sold my TA33 with the amber chevron. I replaced it with a TA33G-H.
The green horseshoe is awesome! I have yet to find anything it washes out on and it is very fast to get on target. I also have a red Trijicon and a red Leupold and they are fantastic optics as well. Good Luck! Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |
