stupid question here, but can I unscrew a thumb screw on a buis after it has been locktited.  Threason I am asking is that I want to locktit my buis, but this summer, I will buying a quad rail to put on my AR and want to know if I should go ahead and locktite my buis now or wait until I get my quad rail.

Thanks for your help.

Use blue... it can be undone pretty easily...

Don't use red or harder...

I would recommend blue loctite on just about anything you bolt on your rifle.

You are so right.  I had to remove the buttstock of my Bushmaster last year, and I discovered, with a great deal of swearing, that it was Red Loctited in place.  I was in a sweat that I might strip the screw head –– or even twist it off ––  trying to get it out, but I eventually did manage to loosen it.  Hell of a job, though.

I prefer purple for small threaded parts - it holds fine and is easier to remove than blue.
