I have a RRA AR Tactical Entry with the removable handle & i'm planning on running aa pentax 3x9x40. What would be a good mount ?  Any pics, links, or advice is appreciated.

On a budget - Burris P.E.P.R.
Best - LaRue

If you want a quick-disconnect mount, the Bobro mounts are excellent.

Armalite has a good mount if you do not intend to remove the scope.

I know for a fact that the Wearver brand Picatinny extra tall Rings are too short for an AR they are about 1/4" too short.

RRA has a one piece scope mount that is like $50.  I have it and the armalite, I prefer the RRA by a tiny bit

I'd have to 2nd the Burris P.E.P.R.

I just got mine in the mail yesterday, and got my scope mounted up - and its quite nice, tho maybe a little bulky, but whatever.  I had looked at the RRA mounts, but had heard they were on quite a backorder.   I would have loved to get the LaRue mount - but really couldn't see the need for the QD for me.    PLUS - now I have that extra $120 to put towards ammo!!

I have the Armalite and a PERP mount, they are both very good for the cash. I use the Armalite on the long range rig to keep the scope as low as possible. The Burris sports the DMS because it is taller and that rifle has a sight tower. With a only 24mm objective I would have a hard time with light gathering having the FSB blocking about half the glass. For your needs, either would be good.

Check this out, it covers lots of mounts and includes all specs.
