Are They Parallex free and is $360 a good price for an EOTech HOLOgraphic Weapon Sight 510 ( 511 - M511 )?

They are parallax free. I would consider the Xps series, they aren't much more.

I'd suggest going w/an Eotech that takes more common batteries. The 512/517 use common AA's and the new XPS uses a single transverse CR123. New 512's can be had for $350 and new 517's can be had for $380 here on the EE: http://ee.ar15.com/ItemView.aspx?iid=48492
HTH, keep us posted!...

I've got this Burris XTS-135 laying arround. I've had it for a while. Bought it new for a rifle that I sold a few days after the Burris arrived. Never used. Are they any good? Cant find any info if its parralex free or not. It does however cowitness with my iron sights

The XTS-135 isn't bad for a "budget" RDS but it doesn't have the ruggedness or battery life (appx 200hrs) of the better (& pricier) RDS like the Aimpoint & Eotech. There's no mention of parallax in the documentation but it's been my experience that cheaper optics have more parallax and optics that have no or minimal parallax are usually right up front about that feature. For range use the XTS-135 is fine but if this is for possible serious social work then I suggest you consider a better optic.

The 510 (511) is a nice optic although it is no longer manufactured by EOTech. I'm sure some places are trying to get rid of them for cheap but I think, like Tomac already mentioned, there are newer models out there for nearly the same price with some much needed updates such as side mounted buttons, 7mm raised base integrated into the optic to achieve a lower 1/3 co-witness, and the use of more common batteries such as AA's. Shop around and do your homework. That price really isn't a steal considering what you could be buying!!! Check your email.

There is a reason the 512 is the best selling EOTech sight.
