I am involved in a deal with a member here.
One of the items I might receive would be an Aimpoint M68/CCO. He has told me that the CCO has more value (it comes with the gooseneck mount, the standard height mount and some other random stuff including the military manual and the military box). The other interesting thing is that he said the serial number and other trademarks are not in white.

1. Do these Aimpoints have more value as they are more of a collectors item?
2. Are the trades in white?

Just some general questions to check validity

Thanks

No... there's no "More Value" in a M68CCO...It's just the .Mil issued version.. Make sure he obtained it "legally"

There are a ton of these floating around on Ebay. It's like someone is either shipping these back from Iraq and A-Stan, or pilfering them from Army supply here stateside...

I belive that some of the original M2 varients of the M68 CCO have started getting sold off at DRMO sales.

It's just an Aimpoint M2, nothing special, still a great optic.

Well, that would explain why there are so many of these popping up on Flea-Bay...

Most likely true.  Our old M2CCOs went somewhere when they were turned in and we got the M4CCO.  Can not imagine the old ones going to another unit in the shape they were in.

Edit:  That said, they were not turned in with the extra gear like the gooseneck and TMs, just the optics.  Buyer beware if you are getting a complete set in a box.
