| I am looking for a quick detach mount for my dpms 308b. It has the raised piccatiny rail so i need one that will hold my 30mm tube with its 50mm objective scope. Thinking about the Larue lt-104 but was wondering what other options i have for holding a good zero when it is detached and reattached. Thanks for the info |

LaRue FTW!!!!
Your options are really Larue, ADM, and ARMS. ARMS suck for multiple reasons, ADM seem to be decent but about the same price as LaRue so it's kind f pointless to not go LaRue since they hold great resale value, have accessories for a MRD, you get LT freebies with every order, and they simply work great! |

Fortunately we live in a time where there are alot of great products out there to suit your needs. On ARFCOM , Larue mounts rule the day. You can't go wrong with a Larue Mount. Also, you might want to look at:
American Defence mounts GG&G mounts ARMS (research these on your own, they have very mixed reviews...and I wouldnt buy one myself) Im sure there are others that some will list. |

I like the LaRue also but there are other very good ones out there like American Defense and GG&G. I personally prefer the American Defense.

I have LaRue mounts on all my weapons now. My 1st LaRue mount was used to hold a Vortex StrikeFire. I zeroed it in and fired at 6”x6” plates at 75 yards away. I was plinking them like crazy.
I then removed the optic, put it back on, and continued firing. I was still hitting the plates just fine. I have not tried comparing my point of impact on paper at closer ranges after removing before and after replacing the optic though. I figured with a 4 MOA dot … what’s the point? If I’m plinking at 75 yds with a red dot … that’s pretty good. I then used a LaRue mount on my Bushnell Elite 3200 3-9x40. I sighted it in at 100 yards, removed it, put the optic back on and every appears to be just fine. I’m using the cheapest Wolf ammo so accurate repeatability is not something to expect. I believe that I have enough experience with this ammo and I believe that the mount works exactly as advertised. I believe that it has returned to zero after removing it and replacing it. I probably wouldn’t do this with a competition rifle or anything like that, but I’m definitely not a competition shooter. If I were then I’d conduct my own experiment using fine ammo. Supposedly this has been done in the past and reviews have been written by people who are WAY more qualified than I. These reviews, if I recall correctly, stated that a small shift in POI was noticed, but it was within spec and would not be noticed by the average Joe. I wish I had a link to one of these performance reviews. Maybe someone here has the link. |

GG&G has several Accucam quick release lever lock bases that include a 30mm integral ring unit that I use on my DPMS .308's. The height from the rail of your receiver to the base of the scope
is a little over one inch, and allows plenty of room over the BUIS and over the handguard when using a 50mm objective scope. |
