What do ya'll think about an Eotech 512 on my Bushy M4?

Just to be sure - this will line up on an A2 post and can be co-witnessed with the MBUS, righhhtt?

$409 + shipping from Midway - fair deal?

Any place better? Is there a better model Eotech at a similar price?

I am a big fan of the 512, I've had mine for several years and haven't found a cqb sight I like better.  My only complaint is it chews through alkaline batteries prety quick, lithiums are alot better.  And yes it is one of the few EO's still made that will absolute co-witness.

I like mine a lot––it hasn;t let me down yet. (It's on my patrol rifle.) I paid $369 shipped NIB a couple years ago from Kaiser Munitions.

+1 I love my 512's. never had any problems out a either of mine. I run nothing but lithiums in my Eotech's.

512 is cool.  The 517 has buttons on side in case you want to magnify.   Looks like you have enough clearance for the 512 with your front handguard.  Go for it.

its a great optic i picked it up for just under 400 from sportsmans guide.

I am going to move my 512 to my beowulf and get a 517 with the side buttons and the 7mm reiser to work better with my 3x and lower 1/3

I have an original 511 on my patrol rifle, and have had it since 2001.  Best addition to the gun I ever spent money on.   Go for it, you ill not be disappointed

JonBoy has your answer....$415 for the EOT and the Accucam from GG&G sure beats the Midway deal.

No prob.....kicking myself in the ass....got the 512 from sportsmansguide for like $370 but now I want the mount and will have to pay full price.  Cant beat the GGG deal when it has the cover too!

EoTech 512 on a 14.5" Bushy HBAR.  You won't be disappointed with the EoTech.

i had a 512 on my last gun and loved it.
Im tempted to try something smaller though this time or one of the ones with the 7mm rise for less of a chance of seeing the front post with a magnifier behind it.

The 517 (my fav Eotech) has the 7mm riser, control buttons on the side so they're still accessible when using a magnifier and it has a stronger & better-designed mount crossbolt.
HTH...

I was looking at the 517, but think I might do the 516 this time maybe.
Possilbly a little smaller?
I read diff things on diff sites so its hard to believe the specs I read.

The 516 is supposedly .6" shorter than the 517 according to Eotech's website but I prefer AA battery useage since everything else in my kit uses AA's as well (YMMV).
Keep us posted!...
