Sight got here today. Looks terrific, no apparent flaws. Works. Will install this evening, shoot over weekend , and report.

The dot does not bloom?

I just received a "T-1 clone.' It blooms when the dot is centered in the fov on all brightness levels.  When the dot is 'moved' toward the tube edges, the bloom is gone.

You should get a crisp dot as long as you keep it at the right brightness setting. They go very bright and will bloom like a AImp[oint at higher settings. If you are have a problem shoot me a email or give us a call at 713-436-5121

Thanks

My M4 clone does much the same thing.  The only way I can seem to avoid having a "dot" that looks like a check-mark is to turn the brightness down to a point where the dot is barely visible.  Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with the construction and quality of the unit, but I'm having a hard time accepting the dot the way it is.

Marshall,

I appreciate your concern. Looking at it a bit more, I find it blooms to the 11 o clock at any brightness level in any are corresponding to the red shaded portion of the below image:

I had the sight set up to lower 1/3 cowitness with a fixed BUIS. Removing the BUIS and using the lower 1/3 of the sight tube, it blooms more like any M68 I have had. To be honest, I would have to check out my issued 68 again to see if it blooms the same way in the upper 1/2 of the FOV. I had not noticed it if so.

All-in-all, I still think it is a great unit for $59+mount. In the lower 1/3 of the fov, it looks very good.

I don't have one of their reddot sights, but I had a similar problem with another reddot.
I bought a couple of UltraDot's MatchDot scopes and had what I thought was a serious problem. It looked like it had a comet's tail, which I had when an old Tasco went bad.
I called them and was about to return it when someone asked if I wore glasses. I am very slightly nearsighted and do wear glasses. I was looking through the sight without my glasses on. When I put them on I had a nice round dot.

If you wear glasses be sure to check with them on. If you don't you might be slightly nearsighted and not know it.

My problem isn't bad enough to force me to wear them. I can shoot open sights at 100 or 200 yards, but things are clearer with them.

It also helps if you focus at your target, not at the dot, even on real aimpoints if you focus on the dot it will bloom.

For the guys experiencing irregular shaped dots - you may have astigmatism in one or both eyes. I have been running a t-1 for over two years and had to come to grips with the same problem.

As for the Primary Arms version (mine is the T1  clone not M3): Received mine about 72 hours after placing the order (GREAT SERVICE!). I slapped it on my dedicated .22lr AR trainer...sat on the couch and adjusted the dot to the top of my MBUS post...went outside and placed 5 of 5 on a Post-it-Note at 10yrds...backed up to 25yrds and put 5 a bit high and left...a few clicks down and over...5 more rounds on a new Post-it...gathered up my kit and went back in (it was getting dark).

So far I'm as tickled as a stripper with a feather...
. I hope to run some drill this weekend to see how it holds up.

Thanks to Primary Arms for a reasonably priced training aid AND the fast shipping!!
